CERAMICS IN LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON - FRANCE

Length: 5 and a half days (from Monday 9 a.m. to Saturday 12 midday) 6 hours by day , 3 on Saturday.
Place: The studio is situated in Viols-le-Fort, a small medieval village in the Herault region of France, 25 km north of Montpellier, between the sea and the Cevennes mountains.
Accommodation: several possibilities: bed and breakfast in the village, nearby self catering cottages, camp site 5 kms away. We will send you a list of addresses when you enrol.

TEXTILE CREATION WORKSHOP IN ROQUEBRUN IN THE UPPER LANGUEDOC REGION
The workshop takes place in a hamlet located in the parklands of the Haut-Languedoc, between the mountains, plains and coastal areas of the region.
Dates: all year long (maximum 3 participants)
Length: 5 days, starting Monday morning, ending Friday evening (30 hours)
Programme: Historical and cultural background, warping, reaching in, impression, spooling, quilling, weaving.
Knowledge of different materials, choice of colors, armours. Each participant works on a personal loom and will take home their finished creation.
The atmosphere is simple, warm and friendly. Meals are taken together: fruits and vegetables from the garden, homemade bread and jam.
To help you relax, there is a Mediterranean garden at your disposal with long chairs, a beautiful arbor with a bench and a terrace covered by giant reeds. You can also take a dip in the river just near the village.
Tariff: 500 €
This price includes the course, materials, lunches and membership fees.
Lodging can be organized locally: single room with shared bathroom : 27€/day with breakfast (Double : 34€ with breakfast).

UPHOLSTERY AND CANEWORK IN UZES (GARD REGION OF FRANCE) OR PARIS
Learn the traditional techniques of the upholstery craft for chair covering and cane work.

- The upholstery craft for chair covering workshop
With the help of an upholsterer with 20 years experience, you will learn traditional techniques. Each participant will learn the various stages in the stuffing and covering of an armchair. At the end of the workshop you will be able to upholster an armchair on your own.
The workshop lasts 6 days. The cost is 640 €, insurance and membership fee included. Participants can buy the armchair which they upholster for cost price (300 €)

TRADITIONAL BASKET MAKING WORKSHOP IN UZES (GARD)
The workshops take place over 2 days in a natural setting. All materials are provided. Bring a picnic lunch.
All the techniques needed to make a wicker basket will be taught. Each participant can take his or her basket home.

Programme:
Demonstration and stone cutting (cabochon) + Initiation to faceting. Theory and practise. Some knowledge of gemmology is helpful.
The trainee will facet a gemstone and an emerald.
The trainee can also chose to specialise in a particular cutting technique.

POTTERY AND RAKU FIRINGS IN THE CEVENNES AREA OF THE SOUTH OF FRANCE
Programme: Raku is a firing technique originating from Japan which is linked to the tea making ceremony. In its modern version, it is accessible to a beginner who can quickly acquire a degree of autonomy in the firing of his or her pots.
During the 5-day course, you will make earthenware pots, enamel and fire them Raku style.
Take your creations home.
The workshop takes place in the beautiful region of the Southern Cevennes.

SCULPTURE WORKSHOP IN THE CEVENNES AREA OF THE SOUTH OF FRANCE
Modelling, stone, wood, ornamentation, sculpture in the round or bas-relief, choose the technique you wish to discover or improve with a professional sculptor.
Classes take place between 9h to 12h, and from 14h to 18h.

WATERCOLOUR WALKS AND SUMMER WORKSHOPS IN WATERCOLOUR AND DRAWING IN BANDOL (COTE D'AZUR)
Watercolour walks: Paint and draw while wandering along the coastal paths and slopes of the hills fragranced by wild flowers and herbs. You will be accompanied by an accomplished artist and painter. The all day walks are gentle and relaxing and not sporty hikes. Come armed with a back pack, solid shoes, a picnic lunch, sketch books and good humour.
The course lasts five days, from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 am on the dot until around 5 pm. It is ideal for adults (or accompanied children ) wanting to wander the countryside while painting or drawing.
