Programme:
Dominicans love to dance. Latin-American music and Afro-Caribbean dances like Merengue, Bachata and Salsa express the positive attitude of the people towards life and their culture, their vitality and joy in life and movement.
Learn the marvellous dances of the Caribbean with one of the best at the Latin Dance School: Salsa, Bachata, Merengue... in an authentic ambiance!

Salsa:
Salsa is similar to Mambo in that both have a pattern of six steps danced over eight counts of music. The dances share many of the same moves. In Salsa, turns have become an important feature, so the overall look and feel are quite different form those of Mambo. Mambo moves generally forward and backward, whereas, Salsa has more of a side to side feel.

Bachata:
Bachata is a form of music and dance that originated in the countryside and rural marginal neighborhoods of the Dominican Republic. Its subjects are usually romantic; especially prevalent are tales of heartbreak and sadness.

Merengue:
Merengue is a type of lively, joyful dance that comes from the Dominican Republic, characterized by a sliding step and by far the easiest to learn!

Dancing combines everything you need to stay healthy and happy! All at once, it's a social activity, great exercise, and a fantastic way to meet people and to make new friends.
Anyone can learn to dance! We promise you can, and we promise it will be fun!
Those who already know these dances can perfect their style and movements as taught by the Dance School.

Dance lessons:
Monday to Friday, 3 hrs per day, 15 hrs total (1 to max. 5 students per class)

Location:
The school is located in Cabarete - North coast of the Dominican Republic.
Cabarete is a small Caribbean village, nestled some 12 kilometers from SosÃºa and a short 15min drive from the international airport Puerto Plata. The town, with its beachside bars, restaurants and hotels, appeals to all ages but comes to life in the evening as one of the 'hottest' destinations in the Caribbean. This is home to the kite and wind surfers, and is one of the best beaches on the north shore.

Tariff: 290 euros
The tariff includes:
- Everyday classes (total 15 hours)
- Transfer from airport Puerto Plata to hotel in Cabarete
- Membership fee

Accommodation:
- Simple studios available starting at 20 US / night
- Good hotels starting at 50 US / night
- Luxury apartments / villa rentals starting at 120 US / night
