Who are we ?

"ALIORE, WorldWide Workshops" is an association formed under the 1901 French law which organises thematic workshops (cultural, culinary, wine, arts and crafts, music and dance) throughout the world.
Our objective is to develop and promote the practise of activities in the country or region from which they originate, thus allowing a total cultural immersion.

The idea behind the Association

All of us love travelling but we are aware that when we travel we do not always manage to get to know the people in the countries we visit. The language can cause problems of course but there is often a difference of culture which is hard to get round.
The workshops give travellers the possibility to live with the local population and represent a doorway into a way of life which is almost inaccessible when one is a simple tourist.
You will take part in cultural and traditional activities in the place they originate from. You will learn with local teachers. You will stay with the local population in half or full board. At the heart of local life, the language barrier disapears because it is all about observing and reproducing gestures and movements. The workshops give you an authentic cultural experience.

Who can do our workshops ?

Our workshops are for anyone who is looking for an authentic cultural exchange. Everyone will be able to go back to the roots of their favorite activity and acquire or improve skills during this life-enriching experience.
You can chose from a large range of workshops in various domaines : wine, cooking, culture, music, dance, arts and crafts.

How are the workshops organised ?

The workshops last on average one week, from Sunday to Sunday. The lessons take place from Monday to Friday. They are given by local professionals.
Accommodation is by preferance with local people to give better cultural immersion. However you can always stay in a hotel. A tourist visit can take place on the Saturday.
Some workshops may be shorter, (2 or 3 days) or longer (10 days or 2 to 3 weeks).

How much do the workshops cost ?

The prices are indicated at the end of each activity page. In general they include courses and accommodation (or the finding of accommodation) Extra activities (nights out, visits, transfers from the nearest airport or station to the workshop site, local transport) are usually included.
All future trainees have to become members of our association which costs 50 euros. This fee covers all our administration costs and gives you access to all our workshops for one year.

When ?

Workshop dates are variable. However, the majority of them take place during the summer (July and August) or the school holidays.

Organising your trip

As we are not a travel agency, we cannot book flights for you.
You must also take out travel insurance covering civil responsibility, medical bills , emergency repatriation, cancellation etc.

Workshop certificate

Every workshop is validated by a workshop certificate issued by Aliore. It can be a simple souvenir or could be used as a justification for an employer.

Quality control

So that we can control the quality of our workshops, we ask all participants to fill in a quality control questionnaire at the end of their workshop.
