Who is the yelemba troupe of ABIDJAN?
The company was created in 1994 by Lassina Coulibaly, and from his first tour in 1995, the troupe
Yelemba from Abidjan has brought a new style to the traditional music and dances of West Africa…
The musicians of the band represent this new generation of artists who pursues a true creative work and research around the tradition. Their impressive physical abilities, the energy they display with ease and above all, the pleasure they have playing together cannot let spectators indifferent.
During 10 years Yelemba travels around the world (France, Spain, Canary Islands, Italy, England, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Tunisia, Qatar, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Guadeloupe, Reunion ...).
The conflict in Côte d'Ivoire in 2003 stopped their activity. But since 2012, the troupe is reformed and work with motivation on new choreographies that promise a bright future.
For Lassina Coulibaly, Yelemba of Abidjan is not only an artistic company but also a school of dance and percussion.

Since 2012, many workshops are organized each year with artists very motivated to teach and share their culture.

atmosphere where the tropical vegetation reminds us that we are only 15 minutes walk from the bush.

You can enjoy your free time wandering around the neighborhood, going to the market, playing with children, tasting the local cuisine, sharing a drink on the bar corner,or simply resting in the shade of the cocoa tree in the Yelemba garden.
