Experience France Like a Local!
Looking for a meaningful cultural experience rather than a typical tourist trip? Our Homestay Tutoring Programme offers the chance to immerse yourself in French daily life while helping a local family improve their English.
Available throughout France, placements last from 4 to 12 weeks, allowing you to discover the country's language, traditions and way of life from the inside.
This programme is designed for open-minded, adaptable people who want to experience genuine cultural exchange.
Instead of simply visiting France, you'll become part of a French family. You'll share meals, conversations, traditions and everyday life while naturally improving your French language skills. In return, you'll introduce your hosts to your own language and culture, creating friendships and memories that often last well beyond the placement.
Your role: Your main responsibility is to help family members improve their English for approximately 15 hours per week.
Most placements involve helping children with spoken English, homework and confidence-building activities, although some parents or adults with no kids also wish to improve their own English.
Teaching is flexible and adapted to each family's needs. Activities may include:
Before your arrival, you'll agree with your host family on a weekly schedule so everyone clearly understands teaching hours and free time.
We encourage participants to prepare a few teaching ideas before travelling and to bring useful resources such as a grammar reference or teaching materials.
Carefully Selected Host Families
Since 2009, we have been organising personalised homestay placements throughout France. Over the years, we have developed strong expertise in matching participants with families according to their expectations, personalities and interests, helping create successful and rewarding cultural exchanges.
Every host family is personally interviewed and carefully selected. We look beyond accommodation and focus on finding families who are genuinely motivated to welcome an international guest, improve their English and share their culture.
Once your placement is confirmed, you'll receive detailed information about your host family and accommodation before travelling.
We invite you to read the testimonials at the bottom of this page to discover the experiences of previous participants who have joined our programme over the years.

Your host family provides:
Please note that many parents work during the day and children are often at school. In these cases, participants usually prepare their own lunch using the family's kitchen or eat in town.
Bathrooms and common living areas are generally shared, although some families can provide a private bathroom.
Personal expenses such as transport, leisure activities or entrance fees remain your responsibility, including when joining family outings.
Responsibilities:
During your stay, you'll be considered a temporary member of the household.
We simply ask participants to respect the family's lifestyle and house rules, keep their room clean and contribute to everyday family life by helping with small shared tasks such as setting the table, washing dishes or tidying up after meals.
This is not an au pair programme. You will not be expected to provide childcare, babysitting, cleaning or domestic work. Your primary contribution is sharing your language and culture while teaching English for around 15 hours per week.
Above all, this programme is about cultural exchange, mutual respect and creating meaningful human connections. Many participants tell us they leave France with far more than improved language skills—they leave with unforgettable memories and a second family.
