With the help of an upholsterer with 25 years experience, you will learn traditional techniques.

Each participant will learn the various stages in the stuffing and covering of an armchair. At the end of the workshop you will be able to upholster an armchair on your own.

This workshop is for people wishing to learn this art. The method involves a longer learning than the modern method but it is interesting because it allows partial repairs in the case of restorations. In addition, it uses natural and cheap materials.

For carcass work:

New chairs in the workshop. The carcasses offered are optimal models for learning. There are 3 original chair models to choose from.

Second hand chairs in the workshop. Seat already stripped and carcass checked, glued and repaired. Unique model.

For the fabric:

Bring your own fabric. For the chairs offered at the workshop, the length is 1m in 140cm wide for plain and false plain fabrics, and 1.20m in 140cm wide for patterned or striped fabrics.

Choose a fabric in the workshop. The yardage will be communicated with the seating list. The choice is limited, it's only for repair. Some fabrics are free, others are not.

If you wish to restore your seats, their carcasses will be well prepared during this course. You will then be able to easily do the upholstery work (taught the previous days) at home on your own or during another course.

Take the opportunity to bring several pieces to restore (seats and others).
