Enjoy the flavors of Berber cuisine


Discover traditional Moroccan cuisine in the warm, family atmosphere of the Riad « Ma Bonne Etoile». The cook will tell you about (nearly) all the secrets of Berber cuisine.


Day 1: Arrival in Ouarzazate. Spend the night in a hotel (for late arrival).

Day 2: Transfer from Ouarzazate to the Riad through the beautiful Draa Valley. Stop at the potters' cooperative in the holy village of Tamegroute. Settling in the riad. Discovery of the surrounding area and people.

Day 3:
Morning: Day for the « Souk» in M’hamid: We go together do the shopping to prepare the meals.
Afternoon: Dish 1: Preparation of the typical Moroccan evening meal, Seffa Medfouna, a dish shared during family meals (approximately 4 hours of preparation).

Day 4:
Morning: Making different types of bread. Like Berber pizza, traditionally baked over a fire on small stones.
Afternoon: Dish 2, For dinner, couscous, a traditional dish with goat or camel, vegetarian or otherwise, where you will discover the secrets of the right blend of spices. (Approximately 4 hours of preparation)

Day 5:
Morning: We'll visit Bounou, the museum, and have tea with the locals, an opportunity to find out how and what they live on a daily basis - a real moment of sharing.
Afternoon: Dish 3, for dinner. Sardine dumplings, a traditional dish that's also surprising.
(Approximately 3 hours preparation time)

Day 6:
Morning: Making the pastries
(Approximately 4 hours of preparation)
Afternoon: Dish 4 for dinner,Tajine la Mazouria a dish shared in family
(Approximately 4 hours of preparation)
Musical night.

Day 7: Conclusion of the workshop in the morning. Return to Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Night in a hotel.

Day 8: Flight (or travel to Marrakech)

During the workshop, you will have time for wandering around the sand dunes, relax around the swimming-pool, go to the hammam, walk into the palm grove…or just do nothing.

Location

The Riad Ma Bonne Etoile is located close to the desert in the village of Ouled Driss, 250 km South of Ouarzazate (450 km South of Marrakech).
The Riad has been renovated using local materials is ideally located between palm trees and desert.

This price includes:
- Full board accommodation
- 2 nights in a hotel,
- The workshop (about 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon),
- 2 way Transfer from Ouarzazate/ Ouled Driss
- Membership fees

Do not include:

Good to know

The Riad Ma Bonne Etoile donates 5% of their benefits to the local association Intilak who works in the areas of social, health, education, environment and culture in M'Hamid’s village, especially for women and children.

Roselyne est une hôte charmante et pleine de bons conseils, qui a su donner une belle âme à cet endroit. Nous avons beaucoup discuté et avons partagé quelques balades matinales. Le Riad étant à 30 mètres des dunes, j'ai pu profiter de toutes les variations de couleurs du sable et de magnifiques levers et couchers de soleil... des moments magiques ! Bref, vous l'aurez compris, un séjour qui m'a plus qu'enchantée, et que je conseille à qui veut faire une coupure et faire des rencontres avec des gens ouverts et qui ont le coeur sur la main. "
" La beauté, la sérénité de l’endroit, l’accueil de Madame Roselyne Sanial et sa disponibilité, le cours de cuisine très complet et très didactique de la cuisinière du riad, Khadijah, le service de table de Brahim aux petits soins pour nous, et le dîner chez Abdelsamad, le jardinier du Riad. Mon ressenti : un degré d’hospitalité disparu depuis belle lurette sous nos climats, l’hospitalité à l’orientale... cerise sur le gâteau, nous sommes tombées sur la saison de récolte des dattes. Bien sur nous avons aussi appris ... le gâteau aux dattes. "
