My time in Tamegroute learning about its distinctive green pottery was everything I had hoped for and more.The Aabi family made me feel like part of the family and my teacher Ismaail was a kind, patient and extremely skilled. It was a challenging experience, for which I am grateful, because most worthwhile things are. It took me time to adapt to the climate, the village accommodation and the new ceramic techniques. I wouldn't suggest the weeklong program for novice travelers or potters, but if you are looking to work hard and fully immerse yourself in another culture and artistic tradition I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop. I feel renewed, and like a better artist and more informed person thanks to my time in Tamegroute.
