The project includes the implementation of a pilot reforestation and conservation project in the research phase, the organisation of information workshops on climate change and the importance of conservation and reforestation, the holding of practical workshops on the reforestation of indigenous species, the establishment of English language courses, and the coordination of planting activities to ensure the proper organisation and monitoring of actions in the field.
You will work approximately 4 to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. During your free time, you can go hiking or visit neighbouring villages to discover the coffee plantations. In addition, if you are curious, the city of Loja is a 2.5-hour drive away. You can spend a weekend there to explore it. It has museums, parks, organises events, etc.
Our partner is an Ecuadorian foundation and organisation that harmoniously integrates human, economic and environmental resources into concrete projects and actions, seeking to establish ecologically and economically sustainable habitats. The Foundation was created according to the ideology of its founders, who aimed to propose new alternatives for society as a whole. These alternatives translate into the development of a popular economy within each family, thus enabling the most disadvantaged populations to progress. And, of course, without neglecting the management and preservation of natural resources, a guarantee of dignity and sovereignty for all.

930€ for the first month, then 888€ for subsequent months.
Of the price, 50€ goes to Aliore and the rest of the amount goes entirely to the host family who welcomes the volunteer or to the hotel owners, depending on availability. All other expenses (transport, laundry or other) can be arranged with our help and can be paid directly to the service providers or through the Foundation, whichever suits you best.
The following skills are required:
- Intermediate level of conversational Spanish (able to ask for help, food, directions, etc.).
- Organisational skills and respect for communities and their culture.
- Adaptability (plans may change due to weather conditions or logistical issues; you must be able to adapt).
- Proactivity: our partner would be delighted to hear your suggestions for improvement.
- Good physical condition: the work will be carried out outdoors, in variable weather conditions and on land located at an altitude of approximately 2100 metres.
Meals are also taken at the host's home. It should be noted that laundry service costs approximately 40USD per month, at a rate of approximately 10USD per wash, with one wash per week.
