"Mon expérience avec Aliore au sein d'une famille américaine pendant un mois pour être assistante de français a été très enrichissante! J'étais inquiète au début mais j'ai vraiment été traitée comme une invitée! Les parents étaient des gens biens, serviables, bienveillants, soucieux de me mettre à l'aise. J'étais avec des enfants très jeunes, il faut donc être patient avec eux et savoir s'y prendre pour incorporer du français tout en jouant avec eux, etc. d'un autre côté c'est très utile car à cet âge ils posent beaucoup de questions et les parents leur expliquent tout en parlant lentement, donc on enrichit son vocabulaire anglais. On a regardé des dessins animés en français, on a lu des livres, je leur ai chanté des comptines. La famille m'a aussi emmené visiter des musées, des monuments, j'ai pu prendre plein de photos. J'ai aussi pu rencontrer le reste de leur famille, lors de repas le weekend, ou faire un bowling, aller au restaurant...au-delà des visites, c'est l'échange humain qui est très important et parler avec des gens différents au sein d'une famille oblige la pratique de la langue et permet une immersion totale! C'est toutefois mieux d'avoir déjà un bon niveau d'anglais pour faire ce programme, sinon ce sera laborieux. On se familiarise aussi avec leurs valeurs et leurs coutumes, cela permet d'avoir des débats sur la politique, la religion, etc. J'ajouterai juste que vous aurez pas mal de temps libre quand les parents sont occupés (au travail ou avec les enfants), donc trouvez de quoi passer le temps, selon si la famille habite en ville ou en campagne. Vous pouvez emmener du travail ou demander à la famille s'ils ont des livres ou des films en VO pour travailler votre anglais tant qu'à faire! Et pour les plus aventuriers, vous pouvez faire des sorties par vous-même ou explorer les villes autour, prévoir un weekend de voyage. Pensez aussi, quand vous faites connaissance avec la famille, à leur demander leur emploi du temps qui peut être différent d'une famille française (lever, repas, etc.), les heures consacrées au français et sous quelle forme, selon l'âge et le niveau des enfants. Ma famille était peu exigeante mais il faut être qualifié pour savoir expliquer comment fonctionne le français, amener des livres et avoir des idées de jeux ou d'exercices. Et enfin, préparez des questions pour lancer des sujets de conversation, vous allez rester un certain temps, il faut être curieux de tout et montrer votre bonne volonté à la famille jusqu'à la fin du séjour. Tout ça vous aidera à vous préparer. Ce n'est pas toujours évident de se retrouver seul à l'étranger, mais le fait d'être au sein d'une famille est rassurant :) vous tomberez sur des gens adorables et chaleureux ! Je recommande vraiment ce programme formidable, pour voyager à peu de frais et qui est basé sur l'échange, même pour des gens qui hésitent encore, ça fait un bien fou de sortir de sa zone de confort et de s'ouvrir à de nouveaux horizons!"

Mon séjour à Cuba a été très agréable, j'ai adoré les cours de salsa cubaine et la compagnie de Jandy qui était mon guide tout au long de mon séjour. Malgré mon espagnol très limité les membres de la famille ont été très patients et d'une extrême gentillesse. Je n'ai qu'une hâte d'y retourner!! Merci à tous pour ce superbe séjour!!

Je recommande ce genre d'expérience, même si mon équipe y a été pour beaucoup: je pense que sans eux et cette bonne ambiance, je n'aurais pas autant apprécié ces 3 semaines de volontariat..."

"Partir dans un programme d’échange culturel dans un pays étranger est l’une des expériences les plus formidables que j’ai faite à ce jour ! C’est en effet avant tout, une expérience humaine enrichissante à tous les points de vue. J’ai eu la chance d’être reçue chez une australienne dynamique et conviviale avec qui j’ai pu partager de nombreuses discussions (et beaucoup de rires !), accueillie à bras ouverts par sa famille et ses amis. De surcroît, j’ai participé à des cours et conversations en français, avec des australiens très intéressés par la culture et la langue française. Mon hôtesse d’accueil m’a même planifié un voyage à Sydney tout aussi inoubliable que le reste. Un grand merci à ALIORE pour la qualité de ses prestations et l’opportunité de rencontrer des personnes étonnantes, avec qui je suis certaine, des liens amicaux vont perdurer. "

"I have had a very positive experience with Aliore, this time as a host to a language assistant in my own home. What I love about Aliore is the chance to really get to know people from another country - something that is not possible as a tourist. Whether you are the Language Assistant in another country or hosting a Language Assistant in your own country, Aliore provides an opportunity for friendship across the seas and a deeper understanding of a different culture. It is a wonderful experience. I really liked having someone of my own age group in my home as I found that we could communicate really well. We had very similar ideas and tastes about many things. All in all, it was very easy to welcome Jacky into my home as she fitted in very well. She was a lot of fun and a delightful Language Assistant."

"Having had other experiences staying with a host family I can easily say this programme is the most rewarding. The fact you have a purpose to the family makes your time a lot easier, as my family always had reason to interact with me and ask questions. My French also improved drastically as I was able to ask them for translations of words when needed, and didn't have to rely on dictionaries or translate apps constantly during conversation. Instead we could maintain it using a mix of English and French. I would highly recommend this programme and I definitely plan to see my host family again in the future!"

"Notre assistant est un jeune homme discret et aimable. Il souhaitait découvrir les spécialités françaises et était très ouvert d'esprit. Sa compagnie et sa conversation étaient très intéressantes. Cette expérience était très enrichissante sur le plan humain. Si vous ne pouvez pas partir en vacances, prendre un assistant étranger à la maison, c'est aussi voyager. "I liked spending time with my French family. They welcomed me into their home and into their family vacations, activities, and friends. It was really special to become part of their family and learn about their culture for a few months. My experience teaching English to a French family through Aliore was really rich and enjoyable. My French family was incredibly kind and welcoming, and I learned about their culture in a way that wouldn't have been possible from visiting France on my own. It was a challenge to tutor English, but it was so rewarding and fun. "Nous avons accueilli une étudiante irandaise pendant deux mois. Nous avons pris beaucoup de plaisir dans cet échange culturel. C'était comme un voyage en Irlande pour nous. Un lien s'est créé petit à petit donc on est en confiance pour oser parler en anglais. On apprend la langue parlée et non pas celle des livres scolaires. Nous avons ainsi beaucoup progressé dans la pratique de l'anglais. C'est tellement plus simple à la maison! Ce fut aussi une très belle rencontre. Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir participé à ce programme."

My experience with Aliore was great! The family placement met my expectations, were relatable and kind. Communication and information from Aliore was very efficient. It was definitely an economic way of travelling while getting the best of a country. The flexibility offered by the program ensures that you do your role and get a cultural exchange at same time. Based on my experience of 4 weeks, I sure would recommend Aliore.

"This was hands down the best experience of my life. I was placed with a family near Paris, not in the south, so I was able to visit Paris as much as I wanted. My family is incredible. They made me feel so welcome in their home and included me in their family like one of their own. I was already fluent in French before coming, but this solidified my knowledge of day-to-day vocabulary you can really only learn by living in France. Some days we only spoke English. Others we only spoke French. Each day was different but I can see improvements in their English and my French! I cooked American food for them and they made French dishes. All in all, the experience is what you make of it. You can go out every day or spend your whole day in your room when you're not explicitly doing lessons, but in the end you will never have as good of an experience as you can if you immerse yourself in the culture and spend as much time with your family as possible, like I did. I gained so much out of this program, I would participate again in a heartbeat."

"My two weeks at the Viel Audon were amazing. I had wonderful experiences and unforgettable memories! Everyone at Viel Audon was very friendly and kind to me. Some took even special efforts so that I settle in well over there. Colin made sure I have everything I need in terms of comfortable arrangements. Moreover, he made schedule such that I get to not only experience all the activities that happen there but also be good part of the team! I have been on 'garde' with the goats, got to be part of 'traite' for milking of the goats, the cheese making process. Along with that I did some gardening, made bread and even fabricated fry toilettes for their recent festival! I got to be part of the hosting team where I generally used to have most of my meals along with helping them. Thus got an opportunity to interact with interesting groups of children, teachers, professors and the french-german group. I also had time to explore things by myself. So I have gone on balade many times, visited Balazuc very well and nearby regions, visited Avignon and swam in Ardeche. Also I used limited net and laptop access so was refreshing and sort of detoxing for me as I have to be generally have to be on it for work/studies or just for social media in general. The place is so beautiful that each day I was amazed by it in its own way! I must have taken hundreds of pictures there, including many pics at the same locations! I will miss being so close to the nature, with the sound of the birds singing, wind blowing past and just the perfect amount of sunshine! Moreover, I got to experience the life in a village in France. Got to learn a lot about the french culture and also improve my spoken french. The people there were multitalented, amicable and very inspiring to me personally to care more for the environment and to live a simple life. I am deeply grateful to Aliore for this opportunity and extremely enriching experience."

"Nous avons aimé l'enrichissement humain, la découverte de l'autre. Mike parlait doucement, simplement, nous reprenait quand nécessaire. Il aimait les enfants et passer du temps avec eux. Je ne souhaitais pas des cours formels car mes enfants ne sont pas très scolaires, je souhaitais seulement les ouvrir à la langue anglaise. Il était vraiment très gentil et patient. Une première expérience très enrichissante. Notre famille a adoré accueillir Mike. Les 3 premiers jours c'est spécial d'avoir un "étranger" à la maison mais une fois parti, sa présence manquait."
