"This was hands down the best experience of my life. I was placed with a family near Paris, not in the south, so I was able to visit Paris as much as I wanted. My family is incredible. They made me feel so welcome in their home and included me in their family like one of their own. I was already fluent in French before coming, but this solidified my knowledge of day-to-day vocabulary you can really only learn by living in France. Some days we only spoke English. Others we only spoke French. Each day was different but I can see improvements in their English and my French! I cooked American food for them and they made French dishes. All in all, the experience is what you make of it. You can go out every day or spend your whole day in your room when you're not explicitly doing lessons, but in the end you will never have as good of an experience as you can if you immerse yourself in the culture and spend as much time with your family as possible, like I did. I gained so much out of this program, I would participate again in a heartbeat."

"My two weeks at the Viel Audon were amazing. I had wonderful experiences and unforgettable memories! Everyone at Viel Audon was very friendly and kind to me. Some took even special efforts so that I settle in well over there. Colin made sure I have everything I need in terms of comfortable arrangements. Moreover, he made schedule such that I get to not only experience all the activities that happen there but also be good part of the team! I have been on 'garde' with the goats, got to be part of 'traite' for milking of the goats, the cheese making process. Along with that I did some gardening, made bread and even fabricated fry toilettes for their recent festival! I got to be part of the hosting team where I generally used to have most of my meals along with helping them. Thus got an opportunity to interact with interesting groups of children, teachers, professors and the french-german group. I also had time to explore things by myself. So I have gone on balade many times, visited Balazuc very well and nearby regions, visited Avignon and swam in Ardeche. Also I used limited net and laptop access so was refreshing and sort of detoxing for me as I have to be generally have to be on it for work/studies or just for social media in general. The place is so beautiful that each day I was amazed by it in its own way! I must have taken hundreds of pictures there, including many pics at the same locations! I will miss being so close to the nature, with the sound of the birds singing, wind blowing past and just the perfect amount of sunshine! Moreover, I got to experience the life in a village in France. Got to learn a lot about the french culture and also improve my spoken french. The people there were multitalented, amicable and very inspiring to me personally to care more for the environment and to live a simple life. I am deeply grateful to Aliore for this opportunity and extremely enriching experience."

"Nous avons aimé l'enrichissement humain, la découverte de l'autre. Mike parlait doucement, simplement, nous reprenait quand nécessaire. Il aimait les enfants et passer du temps avec eux. Je ne souhaitais pas des cours formels car mes enfants ne sont pas très scolaires, je souhaitais seulement les ouvrir à la langue anglaise. Il était vraiment très gentil et patient. Une première expérience très enrichissante. Notre famille a adoré accueillir Mike. Les 3 premiers jours c'est spécial d'avoir un "étranger" à la maison mais une fois parti, sa présence manquait."

"Un peu perdu les 3-4 premiers jours notamment à cause de mon niveau d'anglais qui était plutôt faible, j’ai très vite trouvé mes marques notamment grâce à l'aide des managers qui utilisaient des mots simples pour communiquer avec moi mais également qui proposaient des activités pour mieux me connaitre et améliorer notre relation (boire un verre dans un bar, mini-golf, etc). Après ce temps d'acclimatation, mon expérience s'est très bien déroulée et les travaux demandés étaient exactement ceux de la fiche d'ALIORE. J'ai vraiment progressé mon anglais, ce qui était mon principal objectif. De plus, les managers m'ont fait une lettre de recommandation, ce qui pourrait m'être très utile pour la suite."

"Premiers jours, accueil à l'aéroport quelques mots dans la langue Française. Les jours suivants, un climat de curiosité et d'apaisement facilite l'échange des cultures et de la parole. Au début, beaucoup d'erreurs mais toujours soutenues par une correction de la personne native. Au fil des jours, une réelle amélioration sur l'anglais parlé. Objectif atteint pour ma part, en un mois j'ai énormément progressé. Encore merci et je suis impatient de recommencer ce type d'expérience."

"Food Tour : absolument génial. Super intéressant de présenter l'histoire et la géographie du pays à travers la nourriture et les dégustations. Nos ados de 15 et 17 ans ont apprécié de ne pas faire un séjour uniquement basé sur des balades découvertes classiques. La description du stand poissonnerie au marché .. en anglais .. n'était pas forcément facile, mais l'essentiel, c'est que le shark que nous avons cuisiné soit bon :-)"

"Le Lake district est une magnifique région que j'ai pu découvrir grâce à l'association Aliore et son programme de bénévolat en auberge de jeunesse. Les paysages sont exceptionnels même si il pleut régulièrement, nous avons quand même eu de très belles journées ensoleillées ! Les personnes qui travaillent à l'auberge forment une équipe géniale ! Tout le monde m’a très bien accueillie, je suis ravie d'avoir rencontré ces personnes, je ne regrette vraiment rien de mon séjour ici si ce n'est de devoir partir haha!"

"It was really a wonderful experience becoming closer with my two host families–I felt like the kids were almost like my cousins after a while and was glad to work with them. Aliore was a perfect choice for me. Not only did I come to love and feel loved by each of my host families (I had two), I was able to meet and become friends with the Aliore staff as well. Perfect for anyone taking a gap year, summer abroad, or just looking for an adventure!"

"I really think Aliore is an amazing program and I think that, even with so many other ones available, I couldnt've found another one that did a better job finding my family match. I also really appreciated the "follow-up" they did. I felt like they were really there for me if I had any problems or just wanted someone to go out with and talk a while. They didnt just match get the money and then disappear like many other associations. Also in terms of the value for my money, I think its one of the best programs out there! I really recommend Aliore because I learned so much and had one of the best experiences in my life!"

"A Apani dhani, on ressent tout de suite l'amour qui imprègne le lieu, depuis le concept architectural, les matériaux utilisés, les décorations murales, la cuisine faite avec essentiellement les produits du jardin, les cours de cuisine dispensés avec conseils nutritionnels dans la cuisine familiale et sur la terrasse auprès du feu, les fleurs fraîches du jardin qui ornent tables, fenêtres, et tous les recoins de la maison par les soins de sa belle-fille, le travail du bois des meubles, des volets, des ustensiles par son fils, la générosité avec laquelle il emploie les artisans locaux, le souci de respect des ressources naturelles, surtout l'eau, et de la culture locale, l'implication dans le développement durable et l'éducation des enfants de sa région, bref une grande spiritualité au quotidien, une belle démonstration de sobriété heureuse."

"I had the very, very best time staying with my host in Tarbes for 4 weeks in October/November. I found the most lovely, kind and generous host in Suzanne and left feeling truly fortunate to have had the time and the most authentic French experience-thankyou both Suzanne and Soizick! I found myself included in activities with family and friends and have come to adore the lifestyle and food! All-in-all it was a fabulous experience and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a cultural/language experience. From my communication with Aliore prior to my departure I knew what to expect, it was in fact was beyond my expectations."

"Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de cette semaine partagée, la formule de chantier en famille est excellente pour les parents qui souhaitent des vacances autrement, participatives, dans un esprit de partage et de convivialité, et pour enfants qui y trouvent leur compte en vivant dans un espace avec beaucoup de liberté, entourés d'animaux, avec des responsabilités propres dans la participation aux travaux. Nous avons aimé : le lieu magnifique, la famille, sa simplicité, son ouverture, ses enfants extrêmement débrouillards et sympa, la convivialité, les repas partagés, la cuisine au feu de bois, avec les produits de la ferme et du potager, la rencontre avec d'autres familles, la vie entourée d'animaux en demi liberté, le sentiment d'espace pour les enfants, le gîte très bien arrangé, le travail en équipe dans une bonne ambiance, le partage de la vie d'une ferme et d'une famille, de manière participative et non touristique, l'authenticité des relations."
